From Chief Glenn Moshier of the Ellsworth Police Department:
“On 02/21/18 S/A Raymond Goergen from the FBI’s Bangor Office contacted the Ellsworth Police Department regarding a possible school shooting threat. S/A Goergen reported that the threat notification came to them via a Demark Company which hosts the popular mobile game Clash of Clans. The Co. provided the FBI with a copy of the concerning posts as well as the IP address which the user was most recently logged onto. Using this IP address we were able to track the user to a local residence. Being familiar with the residence Officers went and spoke with a 19 year old male who resides at the residence with his mother and 17 year old brother. The investigation and subsequent interview resulted in the arrest of Michael Allen (19) of Ellsworth. Michael has been charged with Terrorizing (class C) and violation of conditional release. He is currently being held at the HCJ.
The Ellsworth Police Department has been in contact and will continue to work with the Hancock Count District Attorney’s office and the Ellsworth School Department to ensure the safety and security of our students and faculty as it pertains to this latest threat.”
