
From the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office:
“On March 5, 2017 the Waldo County Dispatch Center received a 911 report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville. The caller indicated that someone at the home had been stabbed during the altercation. The caller initially claimed the residence was located in Belfast so officers from the Belfast Police Department responded to the call.
The officers from Belfast P.D. arrived at the residence prior to the deputies of the Sheriff’s Office. Shortly after arriving on scene Belfast officers attempted to take Michelle Sheaffer, 26 years old, of Swanville into custody at which time she physically resisted arrest, including biting Sgt. Fitzpatrick’s hand. Officers were able to take her into custody and she was transported from the scene.
Deputies conducted an investigation and determined that Ms. Sheaffer had been involved in an argument with family members and her boyfriend. During the argument Ms. Sheaffer stabbed her boyfriend in the buttocks with a small kitchen knife. Ms. Sheaffer was charged with Aggravated Assault, Class B, Assault, Class D and Resisting Arrest, Class D.
The stabbing victim was transported to the Waldo County General Hospital for treatment and was later released. Ms. Sheaffer is currently being held with no bail allowed until she is arraigned.”
