They considered building on a portion of George Steven’s Academy’s Tenney Hill property, but issues with wetlands prompted the Lawrence’s to begin looking elsewhere. Some say building on the ball field would reduce the amount of green space in Blue Hill, something Selectman John Banister says there isn’t enough of, especially during summer. Others say it’s wrong to put stipulations on a gift to the community by controlling where the facility is built. The selectmen will continue to discuss the fitness center’s location.
