County Treasurer
(Ellsworth) – The next treasurer for Hancock County is still a bit of a mystery. The Secretary of State’s office isn’t saying who won a write in vote earlier this month. Star 97.7 reached out to the elections division and a spokesman said they would not release preliminary results. We asked county Administrator Scott Adkins if he knew, and he said he got the same answer. Pamela Linscott and Matt Boucher ran as write-in candidates after no one took out papers to appear on the ballot to replace retiring elected treasurer Janice Eldridge.

Firefighters from several communities responded to the Corinna Center Road at about 3-o’clock yesterday afternoon. WABI-TV reports the barn sustained damage, but firefighters kept the flames from spreading to the house.
