Wildfires
(Trenton) – The bone dry conditions in the woods helped fuel a relatively small wildfire in Trenton that brought a large fire department response. About a dozen agencies sent manpower and equipment to Goose Cove Road after a pilot spotted what he described as a 5-acre fire burning. Firefighters stretched out thousands of feet of hose into the thick woods and quickly knocked down the blaze. Many of those same firefighters then responded to a woods fire in Sullivan on their way home, working well into the night to keep that from spreading to any homes.
