From Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland:
“The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the woman who died when her mobile home was destroyed by fire Sunday night in Surry was 66 year old Cathy Pinkham. Her positive identification was made by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Investigators say because of the extensive fire damage to the home, the cause of the fire will be listed as undetermined. The fire was reported about 11pm Sunday night and Pinkham’s body was located a few hours later in the rubble of the home.”
