From Maine State Police:
“12/20/2017 Troopers from Troop J responded to a single motor vehicle crash on the Byards Point Road in Sedgwick. All three occupants in the vehicle had non life threatening injuries. In the vehicle were Alec Peasley, 24 of Deer Isle, Tyler Bartlett, 22 of Stonington and Lucas Oliver, 21 also of Deer Isle. Alec was determined to be the driver. Lucas was taken by life flight from the scene the others were transported by ambulance.
The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve past the Herrick Road and went off the road on the right, the vehicle then slid in the snow and struck a tree. It appears that none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.”
