WABI-TV reports a Hancock County deputy sheriff was first on the scene at the Gross Point road home and found the injured woman on the lawn. Strangler Jailed
(Rockland) A Rockland man faced a judge Monday after a domestic incident allegedly turned violent. Village Soup dot-Com reports police went to a home on North Main Street late Friday night to interview the victim. Court documents say a woman confronted 50-year-old John Conway about pictures on his cell phone and then threw it. That’s when Conway allegedly attacked her in front of a child, punching the victim in the face and throwing her to the ground and putting his forearm across her neck. Conway claims he was asleep when the woman began hitting him for no reason. He says he shoved her off him in self-defense. The woman was treated and released from the hospital. Conway is held on $25-hundred dollars bail.
Captain-Court
(Portland) A Cushing boat captain accused of manslaughter in the deaths of two crew members has asked the court to throw out the results of his blood test. Village Soup dot-com reports the blood test for 29-year-old Christopher Hutchinson shows he was under the influence of drugs when his lobster boat sank in 2014, but the test was taken without a court warrant. Prosecutors say Hutchinson admitted he was high when his boat sank, killing 27-year-old Tom Hammond and 15-year-old Tyler Sawyer. Hutchinson is charged with two counts of manslaughter; his trial is set for February.
