EPD Narcan Stats
(Ellsworth) A better year so far for Ellsworth police who have not had to administer any nasal Narcan in 2017. Chief Glenn Moshier says last year the EPD responded to 23 overdose calls and opioid abuse led to 5 deaths. Moshier says of the 3 lives they saved by using Narcan, the reactions of the revived victims were mixed. Moshier says the majority of the 23 overdose calls were a result of opioid use, but a handful were due to prescription medication or a drug other than an opioid.
