(Unity) Webcams set up at Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm in Unity allow viewers 24-hour access to Riata, a pregnant alpaca who’s due any day now. Co-owner Corry Pratt tells Star 97.7 that Riata is at 345 days gestation and it’s just a matter of time before her baby alpaca, or cria, makes his/her debut.
If you shop at either of their retail stores, the Alpaca Experience on Route 1 in Northport or on High Street in Ellsworth, you can ask to take a peak at the camera to see if Riata is in the birthing barn or pasture. A limited number of viewers can watch the live web feed during birthing season as 8 cria are expected this year.
