Lobster Pound Auction
(Lincolnville) – One of Maine’s most visible lobster pound restaurants goes up for auction a week from tomorrow. Village Soup dot-com reports the Lincolnville Lobster Pound restaurant gets auctioned off on March 9th. The owners went bankrupt several months ago, blaming a stock market crash in 2008. The 260-seat restaurant sits right on Lincolnville beach next to the Islesboro Ferry terminal. The owners say they lost 26-parking spaces when the DOT improved the area a few years ago. That, they say, resulted in the parking lot being full and people opting to pass up a meal thinking there was no room.

Arson Arrest
(Harrison) Fire investigators have charged a Harrison man with two counts of arson for a barn fire last Friday night. The State Fire Marshal’s Office arrested 44-year-old Dathan Wakefield. They say the fire started outside the barn on Edes Fall Road in Harrison, which is attached to Michael Giguere’s home. He was home at the time and escaped safely. Investigators say Wakefield and Giguere have a long running dispute. Firefighters saved the barn from serious damage after a neighbor called to report the fire. Wakefield was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

They’re hoping for enough donations to fill homes with heat for the rest of this winter and next.
