Storm
(Undated) – We hit the jackpot on snow yesterday. The National Weather Service reports the highest snowfall total in our area was in Jonesboro where 3-feet of snow fell. Hancock County reported up to 22-inches of snow as the blizzard hit Maine hard. At one point the Department of Transportation took its trucks off the roads because visibility was near zero. Police report very few motorists braved the highways yesterday. They ordered big rigs off Interstate 95 after a series of trucks jackknifed on the highway. Emera Maine reports about 18-hundred outages this morning – the largest in the Gouldsboro/Sullivan area. Schools in Hancock County are delayed a couple of hours to allow crews to clean up parking lots and walk-ways. And, what’s more, National Weather Service meteorologist Frank Pereira says another storm is coming tomorrow.
Roof Collapse
(Millinocket) – A bowling alley in Millinocket is a total loss after its roof collapsed from last weeks snow. The Penobscot Avenue alley’s roof came down late Sunday night. No one was in the building at the time, and no injuries are reported.
